Inside: State Fair foods, Pete's Pops, Art + Hops and more

Welcome to August! Not to look beyond summer, but we are planning ahead for our fall. Here’s how you can partner with North Shore Family Adventures.
Know the North Shore: Pete’s Pops

From humble beginnings in founder Pete Cooney's apartment, Pete’s Pops has become a Milwaukee phenomenon and a Silver Spring sweet treat destination. All summer long you can find their creative flavors at the Fox Bay (soon to be the Argo) location. And just announced: They are collaborating with the Bucks on a Cream City flavor, in honor of the return of the popular City Edition jerseys.
The Sporkies and Drinkies of State Fair

The Blueberry Breakfast Brat at State Fair
State Fair is still going on through Sunday, so there’s still plenty of time to try the BEST food of the fair. This year, Ube Butter Banana French Toast Lumpia from Lumpia City took home the top Sporkie award, and there’s a lot more creative food and drinks where that came from.
Art & Hops Series Comes to Doctors Park

The Art & Hops Series is a NEW arts event that has followed the Traveling Beer Gardens all summer. This Saturday, it makes its fourth stop from 11am-5pm at Doctors Park (1870 E Fox Lane, Fox Point). The event features over 30 local artisan booths alongside the Traveling Beer Garden, offering handcrafted goods, artwork, and craft beverages in an outdoor setting. Visitors can browse local artists' work, shop for handmade items, and enjoy refreshments while spending time at the Fox Point park location.
Milwaukee Public Museum for FREE

Every first Thursday of the month is FREE admission day thanks to Kohl's Thank You Thursday. The museum welcomes families with strollers, sensory support tools, and even lets you bring your own snacks. North Shore History: The Water Wagon

The Shorewood Water Wagon
Here's a look at Shorewood from June 7, 1923: Boys climb on Shorewood's water wagon while attending a picnic in Murray's Woods. The horse-drawn wagon was used to sprinkle water on unpaved streets to subdue dust, and as a water source at village picnics. A local beer garden sounds slightly more appealing.
See you out there,
