It’s June on the North Shore! Two of our favorite neighborhood markets open their 2026 seasons this weekend, Fox Point turns 100, and the beer gardens are open for the long evenings ahead. Here's where we'd point you this week.

Know the North Shore: WFB History
Whitefish Bay is full of familiar places. But behind those places are stories many residents may not know. That is what Anna Drewes Brown hopes to change. After moving to Whitefish Bay in the summer of 2024, Anna brought with her a lifelong love of history, architecture and preservation. When Anna joined the Village of Whitefish Bay's Historic Preservation Commission, she began learning more about the village's history — and also realized how much of that history was not easy for residents to find online. That’s what inspired her to start Historic Whitefish Bay.

Fox Point and Shorewood farmers markets
Fox Point Farmers Market kicks off on Saturday, with opening day at North Shore Congregational Church, 7330 N. Santa Monica Blvd. Expect Wisconsin growers, pastured meat and eggs, fresh fish, cheese, and prepared foods spanning Greek, Mexican, and Senegalese flavors. Live music plays from 10 to noon. Saturdays, 8 a.m.–noon, leashed dogs welcome.
Shorewood Farmers Market opens the following day, on Sunday, June 14. The Estabrook Park market kicks off its summer season with 70-plus vendors, weekly live music, and stroller-friendly paths right along the Oak Leaf Trail. SNAP/EBT is accepted with Market Match doubling at the South Market Tent. Sundays, 9:30 a.m.–1 p.m., 4100 Estabrook Parkway.
Fox Point Celebrates 100 Years
Fox Point turns 100 this year, and the celebration kicks off with a morning run and walk on Saturday, June 13. Choose the 10K, 5K, or a casual 1-mile walk, all starting at 8 a.m. from Freedom PT Services, 6908 N. Santa Monica Blvd. Registration includes a T-shirt, there are raffle prizes, and proceeds benefit the Fox Point Foundation. Polish Fest kicks off Summer festivals
America's largest Polish festival returns to the Summerfest grounds for three days of polka and folk music across five stages, pierogi and kielbasa, vodka tastings, cultural exhibits, fireworks, and a family activity area. Friday and Saturday run noon to midnight; Sunday is noon to 8 p.m., with Mass at 10 a.m. Henry Maier Festival Park, 200 N. Harbor Drive. Dates, hours, food, and what to know before you go.
Strawberry Season
There is a narrow, magical window every June in southeastern Wisconsin when local strawberries are ripe, warm from the sun, and so fragrant you can smell them before you see them. Grocery-store strawberries cannot touch them. Wisconsin strawberry season runs roughly mid-June through early July, and if you blink, you'll miss it. This guide rounds up every active u-pick strawberry farm within a 60–90 minute drive of Milwaukee.
